“I wanted to create a collection of works that could trigger long forgotten memories. Though I have specific stories & women I attribute to each of these works, I look for imagery that might resonate with the viewer, prompting individual remembrances.”

“Atypical of the works I traditionally make, this body of images appropriates patterns from lace & fabric prints, furniture & wrought iron fencing. Each pattern is a part of a larger collection of household goods I have fondly collected to commemorate special events & people.”

“While planning these, I became aware of an unintended focus on objects of tedious domesticity, traditional women’s work & idealized home life.” - Katie Stubblefield
